周年記念でのギフトでは1周年、2周年、10周年、30周年、100周年、、、と1年を迎えるごとにその積み重ねの証でもある周年数を記載することが大半です。この周年の年数を英語にするときに考えなければならないのが序数。

1周年（1st Anniversary）、2周年（2nd Anniversary）、10周年（10th Anniversary）、33周年（33rd Anniversary）、101周年（101st Anniversary）、111周年（111th Anniversary）、121周年（121st Anniversary）・・・といった感じです

英語が中学生レベルの私がうまく説明できるとは思えず、周年のお祝いに限っての内容を記載しておきますね

• 序数
  序数はものの順序を表わす言い方で、1番目・2番目・3番目という意味で使われます。
  周年のお祝い年数も、1年目・2年目・3年目といった感じですよね。また日付を表記する際などにも序数を使います。今日2018年5月14日なら、May 14th, 2018（米式で月・日・年の順で、日の後に「,」をつける）や 14th May 2018 （英式で日・月・年の順。カンマはつけない）などの表記になります。略して「May 14, 2018」でもよく使われますが、読み方は序数読みです。

• 冠詞
  冠詞には、定冠詞（the）と不定冠詞（a）、冠詞を用いない場合があります。
  よく、周年に「The」をつけるのかどうかを相談されますが、これは、相手との共有できるものに使う冠詞ということなので、内容によりけりかと思います。実際に、ご依頼内容でもtheをつけていたりつけていなかったです。
